How to Compare Floor Scrubber Specifications
Translate path width, tanks, productivity, runtime, pressure and recovery numbers into operational consequences.
Normalize every candidate to the exact configuration, then separate verified specifications from calculated implications. Cleaning path affects pass count; squeegee width affects access; tanks affect stops; runtime affects route completion; support affects uptime.
Normalize the model identity
Record full model number, voltage, battery chemistry, charger, deck and included accessories. Family names often cover materially different machines.
Use the current manufacturer manual or data sheet as the primary technical source. Treat retailer copy as configuration evidence, not authority when numbers conflict.
Separate widths and output
Cleaning path is the agitated strip. Squeegee width is the pickup assembly and often sets the narrowest passage. Machine width may differ from both.

Tank capacity and battery runtime should therefore be compared with the planned route and access to water, drains and charging—not as isolated bigger-is-better specifications.

Brush pressure, speed and solution delivery influence cleaning, but more pressure is not universally safer or better. Check propulsion as well. A brush-assisted machine may move partly through brush action, while a traction-drive model uses a dedicated drive system. That difference can matter on longer routes and mild grades. Compare sound level, operating weight, control layout and visibility when the machine will work near customers, patients, students or tightly spaced equipment.
Compare Ownership Requirements, Not Just Machines
Create a normalized table for battery type, charger, consumables, replacement squeegees, compatible pads or brushes, warranty and local service access. Verify whether batteries and chargers are included in the linked configuration. Two listings with similar machine prices can represent very different complete packages.
Finish with constraints and tradeoffs rather than a single score. Record which machine fits the route, which minimizes refill interruptions, which is easier to transport and which has the most practical parts support. A defensible choice is the model whose specifications match the facility’s workflow, even when another machine has the largest tank or highest theoretical coverage figure.
A final control worth documenting
Record the source and date beside every figure in the comparison. When two documents disagree, use the current manufacturer manual or ask the manufacturer to identify the applicable configuration. Leaving a cell marked “not published” is more useful than filling a decision table with an estimate that looks authoritative. Keep discontinued and current variants separate, since shared family names can conceal changes to tanks, batteries, controls or included accessories.
